Kendall is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Somatic Psychotherapist. Her approach is holistic, guided by integrative health and strength-based. The foundation of her work is in positive psychology. Her practice is client-led, and an underlying theme is helping clients develop their intuition and improve relationship to self, other and the environment. As people awaken to the experience of choice a sense of freedom and liberation emerges. Being liberated is empowering. Feeling empowered is such a resource! It can propel change and lead to increased moments of "success" and happiness.
Kendall helps people to improve their quality of life through somatic, experiential and contemplative exercises. Somatic interventions are body-based (on the most basic level noticing one's breath or body posture). Experiential therapy often involves movement, indoors or walking outside. Her training includes teaching others how to re-establish a positive relationship with the natural world and to see it as a tool for emotional health and well-being. Contemplative exercises are about meditation, mindfulness, and being in the moment. No previous yoga, meditation, or outdoor experience needed to benefit from these universally accessible approaches. And, as all therapy should be, it is 'challenge by choice.' She offers possibilities and you take what works for you, leaving all the rest behind, like water off your back.
Kendall enjoys working with clients to enhance their daily lives. It is a hectic, busy world; finding time for therapy or yoga can be difficult. However, it is in the conscious creation of space that shifts can occur.
Her areas of expertise include anxiety & stress-reduction, self-care & sustainability, relationship & transition challenges, family systems work and issues related to aging or identity. Often the family of origin is a place ripe with emotional strife, at times it is possible to work with the whole family system in-person, in the office, when that is not possible, our families continue to travel with us (internally) and are always available to access in therapy sessions. Kendall has an extensive clinical background in serving parents as they navigate the most challenging job on the planet; raising good human beings is no easy feat in today's world.
Kendall provides services to people of all ages and backgrounds and offers group sessions for specific emotional health issues. She does not treat clients who have addiction as their primary presenting problem and she does not treat clients who have active suicidal ideation. She will be happy to assist with referrals.
