My teaching style: Rooted in Hatha Yoga, inspired by the essential components of Subtle Yoga (kumbhaka, pausing for awareness, slow, dynamic postures focusing on breath leading movement) and strongly linked to emotional health and well-being, (classes specifically geared towards either anxiety reduction or to alleviate symptoms of depression). I also include and share information for how an intentional yoga practice can help to mitigate physical health disorders, and will infuse classes with appropriate themes based on the time of year, weather, feedback from students etc.

Yoga Therapy as defined by the International Association of Yoga Therapists:
Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of Yoga. The language would be carefully structured to create a wellness model (as opposed to a pathology-based or disease).
From my teacher, Kaoverii Weber, www.subtleyoga.com, on the difference between yoga therapy and yoga:
Yoga is an intuitional practice of personal growth and transformation - it is the mystical (even heroic!) endeavor to link the finite with the infinite. Yoga therapy is the work that we do to remove the blockages, be they physical or mental/emotional, that prevent us from practicing yoga.
